Local children have been busy practising for their forthcoming show called "Kidz" which will feature a host of songs from popular musicals including Blitz, Bye Bye Birdie, Annie, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Oliver, The King and I and West Side Story. These are all performed by local children playing the children parts, and adults performing in the principal roles.

The idea came from Reverend Chris McQuillen-Wright, who wanted to provide song and dance opportunities for local children aiming to improve children's confidence, teamwork and sense of responsibility through the show. Money raised will be put towards new church windows at St Columb Minor Church.

The children have been directed by Mrs Maggie Larsen who has performed in many West End Musicals over the years. Some of the children have never sung or danced before, and it's been a great opportunity for them including the chance to perform on a Stage before an audience.

The Show will take place at Trevelgue Holiday Park on Friday 18th April at 7pm, Saturday 19th April at 7pm and Sunday 20th April at 3.15pm. Tickets cost £5 for adults and £3.50 for children aged between 5 and 16. They are available on 01637 850540 and at First Impressions in Chester Road, Newquay, as well as on the door.
